Try bar-style karaage with different salts and pepper, alongside grilled oysters or oyster and mushroom ajillo. Shinsuke Bar also serves sharing platters of appetisers and wine.
〒559-0024 Osaka, Suminoe Ward, Shinkitajima, 1 Chome−1−14 サンライフ住之江01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Shinsuke Bar’s “bar kara” is karaage—Japanese-style fried chicken—served with a choice of salts and pepper. Visitors have praised its crisp exterior and soft interior, and enjoy changing the seasoning as they snack with a drink. Compare the salts, or find a favourite to accompany your glass. It’s an easy dish to start with.
Grilled oysters and oyster and mushroom ajillo are options for anyone in the mood for shellfish. Some diners have tried oysters raw, steamed and grilled, and also singled out the fried clams as a dish that goes well with drinks. One visitor said they dipped bread into the ajillo. You can sample several oyster preparations, or add karaage and ajillo to round out the table, depending on what appeals.
For a group, consider sharing the appetiser platter, served for 2. One diner’s selection included quiche, duck, ratatouille, meatballs and potato salad, with a little of each to snack on. Other shareable options include pork-wrapped pea shoots, Genovese pizza and onion gratin. Beer and wine are available, and one visitor noted the broad wine selection. This is a casual bar for a night of drinks and dishes to share; reservations are recommended for dinner.
